Sure Love You

These are the words that come quite frequently from Olivia's little mouth.  

She'll peek her head into a room that I'm working in and just catch my eye and say...I sure love you, Mommy!

I'll be in folding laundry and she'll pop up behind me and say...I sure love you!

We'll be driving down the road and out of the blue I hear from the back...Mommy!  I sure love you!

And I love sure love her right back!

Ethan - Mom?  Did you know that I know how to speak "Bird"?

Me - Really...Bird?  I didn't know!  Can you teach me?

Ethan - Nope.  I can't teach you.  But I really can.  Watch.  Do you know what this means?

Ethan (now part bird) - (starts tweeting frantically) Tweet. Tweet. Tweet! TWA TWA TWEEEEET!!!!

Me - Wow!

Ethan - Do you know what I said?

Me - No idea at all!  What does it mean?

Ethan - It means there's an emergency!


And off he runs...apparently to eavesdrop on more bird conversations in the back yard!

Sharing...According to Ethan!

Overheard...

Ethan - Livvy can I play with your toy?

Liv - No!

Ethan - Please Livvy?

Liv - No!


A few minutes pass...


Ethan - Now can I play with it?

Liv - No!

Ethan - Livvy.  You're supposed to share!

Liv - No!

Ethan - Livvy.  You have to share.  Don't you want to do what's right?

Liv - (silence)

Ethan - You have to do what's right.  If you don't share in your life you might die!

Liv - (Just staring at him for a second or two)  Uh.  Okay.  Here you go.

Ethan - Thanks!!!


Either Ethan just had a primary lesson on sharing and he took some of the advice quite seriously, or else he is finally grasping the importance of sharing and thinks it the most important of all virtues!  Either way, I absolutely LOVE overhearing the life-lessons given to each other by my children...however warped they may be!
