So, the Olympics have been this summer's most anticipated event, here in the Smith Household. My kids have been counting down the days...literally! They made chains for each of their rooms and tore off a link a night for the past month! They have made flags out of anything they could get their hands on...popsicle sticks being my favorite!!! Every piece of paper has been doodled on with 'Team USA' or 'Gold Medal' or 'Swimming'...and I could go on and on. We watched every minute of the Olympic trials...giving our DVR a run for it's money! :) Even Olivia has been known to jump up and down screaming during a swimming event...cheering for Phelps or Lochte or Franklin or anyone else who may be in the water!
So, my kiddos were in heaven yesterday as they tore off their last chain link and knew that it was finally here! To get ready we tried out a simple form of tie-dying to make t-shirts shirts to wear during opening ceremonies.
Today, the DVR is set to record every event today...just waiting for everyone to be home to watch!
