Bad Dreams

Last night, I had the extreme privilege of accompanying Olivia at 2 am as she was scared out of her mind from a bad dream.  Poor girl.  She cried the whole time we walked back to her room, cried the whole time I tried to talk to her and calm her down and shrieked hysterically as I tried to leave the room to go back to bed.  She was completely terrified.

When I finally got her calmed down a bit and able to talk about what her dream was about, I about fell off the bed laughing.   Apparently, she was attacked by Tinkerbell.  But not just any Tinkerbell...a BAD Tinkerbell.  That's what she kept muttering over and over and over...BAD TINKERBELL!!! And she was scared out of her mind that this bad Tinkerbell was going to come back.  She was even convinced that Ethan told Tink where her room was.  Poor girl, she thought her big brother sold her out to the evil fairy.  She talked about Bad Tinkerbell for a good 1/2 hour as we both laid on her bed trying to fall asleep.

So, now I'm just praying that no bad faeries come to our house tonight.  We all need a good night sleep!

Our Ballerina

Olivia had her first ballet recital last weekend and it was a smashing success!  We had plenty of jitters beforehand, but she came through in the end!  Love that girl!!!

She's the second from the left in the back row.  :)

Who's the Boss?

The other day, I asked Olivia to pick up her toys.  She looks at me and walks out of the room.  I'll admit it, I naively thought for a split second that my sassy, Little Miss was going to obey...on the first time asked!!!  What???  Unheard of these days!

I should have known better though, because this is what I hear her chanting as she walks away...quietly at first and then singing it loud and proud for all to hear.

"You're not the boss...Daddy is the boss!  You're not the boss...Daddy is the boss!  YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS...DADDY IS THE BOSS!

Seriously, where does this little girl come from???  She is HILARIOUS!

Warning: Falling in Love Might Occur

The other day Steve got home from work and gave me a huge hug.  I was in the middle of making dinner...but liked my new option much better than stirring food over the stove, so I soaked in every minute of it!  I clung to his neck, selfishly hoping to soak in a bit of extra not-recently-tested patience levels so I could make it through the rest of the evening!  After a few seconds of the hug, we hear a little voice at our knees.

"You guys better watch out!"  said Olivia in her Know-It-All/I'm-Always-Right voice as she peered up at us.

"Watch out for what?"  I replied...all while still hugging tightly.

"You better watch out...'cuz you might fall in love!" she retorts.

Hate to break it to you Little Miss...already fell...completely.  :)

So, Happy (belated) Easter to everyone from 'Eager-to-Please' Garrett, 'Too-Cool-for-Pics' Ethan and 'Goofball/Prankster/Never-Serious' Olivia!!!

Rewind to Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving last year, we took off on an adventure.  We rented a cabin in Arkansas's Ozarks and spent our Thanksgiving week exploring and enjoying doing nothing but being together!

We hiked, boated, built a campfire or two (or ten, if you're Garrett!).  We played frisbee golf and horseshoes and had a Star Wars marathon (only the old 4, 5 and 6...the new ones are not worth watching!).  We  cooked a super yummy Thanksgiving dinner, played board games galore, drove the tractor, threw rocks in the lake and caught leaves as they were endlessly falling from the trees, watched the wildlife outside our window(especially the yellow-bellied sap sucker!)...and a million other things!  The cabin was perfect and being hundreds of miles away from any responsibility was exactly what our little family needed!

It was honestly the most wonderful week...and the greatest memory-making trip ever!  Wish we could go back!

100

100th day of school???  Well, of course, one must dress up like they are 100 years old to sufficiently celebrate, right?

Ethan, my little old man, donned the mustache, put on the glasses, sprayed his hair gray (which you kinda can't really tell in these pics!) and even did the unthinkable...he tucked in his shirt and wore a belt in his attempts to look 100!  Yep...cutest little old guy I've ever seen!
